Principle 01
Care with dignity.
Receiving support does not diminish your strength. Give with respect. Receive without apology. Let care recognize the whole person.
A place to begin: Ask someone what would be helpful before deciding what they need.
Our principles
A child notices how we speak. A friend remembers how we listened. Someone learns what respect looks like because they saw us practice it. These are the principles beneath ALIRA.

Principle 01
Receiving support does not diminish your strength. Give with respect. Receive without apology. Let care recognize the whole person.
A place to begin: Ask someone what would be helpful before deciding what they need.
Principle 02
Trust grows in ordinary moments. A promise honored, an honest answer, a repair made when we fall short. Integrity is something others can feel.
A place to begin: Choose one small promise you can keep today. Keep it.
Principle 03
Being available to everyone at every moment is not the measure of a generous life. A thoughtful boundary protects what allows you to give.
A place to begin: Name one thing you can offer freely, and one limit you need to honor.
Principle 04
No one was given every lesson they needed. There is dignity in asking, practicing, and beginning again with a little more understanding.
A place to begin: Replace “I should already know this” with one honest question.
Principle 05
The next generation notices how we treat people, speak to ourselves, and handle difficult moments. Our example can give our words their meaning.
A place to begin: Practice the kindness or courage you hope someone younger will learn.
Principle 06
What helped you may help someone else. Share it with humility. Leave room for their own path. Give forward without needing to be the center.
A place to begin: Offer one useful lesson, kind word, or moment of undivided attention.
The Hidden Notes explores how these ideas can live in an ordinary day. A little perspective. One useful question. Something worth passing on.
The voices around ALIRA
Words being shaped with our community.
The people everyone leans on deserve somewhere to lean, too. To me, being cared for is part of having the strength to keep giving.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can pass on is a different example: a boundary kept, a promise honored, a way of loving that leaves room for ourselves.
I care about what the next generation learns from the way we live. The kindness we practice and the guidance we share can become something they carry long after us.
